Day 1 - Grade 10

Hello and welcome back!

We began this class with a review of the elements and principles of design as they are listed on our word wall.  This was followed with a hand-out of these many elements and a discussion of their importance in our creative process.  We also review the stages of the creative process.

Your first major assignment is a grid drawing.

Step One: pick out a photograph or existing piece that is important to you and print it.

Step Two: We will then apply a grid to it

Step Three: We will determine the proper size for the grid on an 18x24 newsprint

Step Four: Replicate the original on the 18x24" sheet

Step Five: Using the light table, you can trace your rough draft to your final sheet.

Step Six: Work through the creative process to arrive at your masterpiece!
